Best Coffee Shops in Savannah — Picked by a Local Who Lives Here
-My Handpicked Six, by your local hosts at Be Our Gaston. Coffee shops featured in this guide: Savannah Coffee Roasters, Collins Quarter Coffee Window at Forsyth Park, Franklin's, Coffee Fox, Gallery Espresso, and Origin Coffee Bar.
Savannah's Historic District coffee scene is better than most people expect — and every one of these shops is walkable from the squares. We've lived in the South Historic District for five years and these six spots are the ones we actually visit, week after week. We only chose six, and that's saying something.

Savannah Coffee Roasters
Savannah Coffee Roasters $$
🪑 Spacious seating | 🔥 Fireplace in winter | 🍳 Full breakfast menu | 🌿 Outdoor seating
This is our go-to — and if you're a mocha person, this is your place. We've tried the mocha at every coffee shop in Savannah and this one wins, no contest. Beyond the coffee, Savannah Coffee Roasters has a lot of space, a full breakfast menu, great pastries, and a warm, unhurried atmosphere whether you're working, reading, or meeting people. They also offer sugar-free syrups — a small thing that matters more than you'd think when you're ordering every day.
Order: My favorites are The mocha and The Honey Cinnamon Oat Latte. If you're hungry, stay for breakfast.

Collins Quarter Window in Forsyth
Collins Quarter Coffee Window — Forsyth Park $$
🪑 Park seating | 🐾 Dog friendly | 🎠 Right next to the playground
This is the grab-and-go window at the Forsyth Park location of Collins Quarter — and it's one of our favorite morning moves. Skip the wait for a table, order at the window, and take your coffee into the park. The fountain, the oaks, the morning light — it's a genuinely perfect start to a Savannah day. Bonus: if you have small children, the playground is steps away. Also perfect if you're waiting for a table at the Collins Quarter restaurant — get your coffee, let the kids play, and walk in when you're called.
Order: The spiked lavender mocha if you're feeling indulgent. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee if you want something bold and cold. Both are outstanding.

Franklin's
Franklin's $$
🌿 Outdoor seating | 🐾 Dog friendly | 🥐 Full brunch menu | 📍 Between north and south districts
Franklin's has the best food menu of any coffee shop on this list — proper French-inspired brunch in a charming, calm space that feels more like a café in Lyon than a coffee shop in Georgia. The coffees here are unlike anything you'll find elsewhere in Savannah: the pistachio gelato latte, the candy bar latte, the cherry blossom latte. Creative, seasonal, and genuinely delicious. Sugar-free syrup options available too. My husband had the Croque Madame recently and it was outstanding. Located perfectly between the north and south historic districts — an easy stop no matter where you're staying.
Order: Whatever the seasonal special latte is — they rotate and every one we've tried has been excellent. The Croque Madame if you're hungry.

Coffee Fox
Coffee Fox $$
⚡ Grab-and-go | 📍 Right on Broughton Street | 🧁 Pastry case
The Coffee Fox is the move when you're on Broughton and need a great coffee without slowing down. No breakfast menu — this is purely about the coffee — but what they do, they do well. The Mexican Mocha and the Horchata Latte are both exceptional and worth going slightly out of your way for. Owned by the same team as Foxy Loxy in Starland, the Coffee Fox brings the same quality to a far more convenient downtown location.
Order: The Mexican Mocha or the Horchata Latte. Both are house specialties.
📍102 W Broughton St

Gallery Espresso
Gallery Espresso $
🎨 Artsy and eclectic | 📚 Work-friendly | 🌿 Outdoor seating | 🐾 Dog friendly | 🍷 Wine in the evenings | 📍 On Chippewa Square
Gallery Espresso is Savannah's oldest coffee shop and one of its most beloved — not despite its quirks but because of them. Mismatched vintage furniture, local art on the walls, stained glass windows, and a view of Chippewa Square — the actual square from the Forrest Gump bench scene. The coffee menu isn't extensive and that's fine — this place is about the atmosphere as much as the cup. Stay for a long afternoon. Come back in the evening for wine and cheese. Sit outside and watch people cross the square. Order a café au lait and just be in Savannah.
Order: The café au lait.
Local's tip: This is the best coffee shop in Savannah for working or spending a long morning. The tables by the windows are ideal, and the furniture is actually comfortable.

Origin Coffee Bar
Origin Coffee Bar $$
🌿 Bright and open | 🍳 Extensive brunch menu | 📍 Western Historic District — still walkable
A little further west than the others — so a great option if you’re staying on the west side of the historic district — but absolutely worth the walk. Origin has the most open, airy space of any café on this list, a full brunch menu that goes well beyond pastries, and a coffee program that serious coffee lovers will appreciate. The Miel — espresso with honey and cinnamon-infused milk — is one of the most distinctive drinks on this list and one of our favorites.
Order: The Miel. If you're hungry, stay for brunch — the menu is more substantial than you'd expect for a coffee shop.
📍356 Martin Luther King Blvd.
